I’ve decided to make a change in my life. I’m going back to an old way of doing things.
You see when you are 6′3″ and pushing 300 pounds, it is very, very hard to find pants that fit just the way you like. It’s even harder to find pants like this that have pockets. One [...]

We’ve done our share of road trips this summer. For these special occasions I put together a CD of good road tunes. There’s 20 on there and while I can’t remember them all I can remember the favorites of Camden and Logan – Because I’ve heard them about a gazillion times over!

Next spring we’re going to have a senior high retreat focused on God and sexuality.
Diane and I spoke at one years ago in college with the youth group we volunteered with. As the vans and cars were pulling away, kids has signs in the windows that read, “Sex retreat.” I wondered what people who saw [...]

I had a few physical goals this summer. One was to ride my bike 100 miles in one shot. It’s not as hard as it sounds. I’ve done it 5 times this summer.
The other was to run a marathon. Not an actual race but just the distance. I just don’t want to deal with the [...]

In fact I’m roughly the 59,029,289th richest person in the world!
So pffffffffffffffffffffffft!
See where you rank and why here.
I promise you’ll feel much better about your finances…
or worse…
or maybe a bit of both actually…

So far the coolest thing about Facebook is the “Chuck Norris Fact Generator” application I downloaded.
The lastest fact was:
“Chuck Norris kills Harry Potter in the seventh book.”
Classic.
P.S. I’m not a HP hater.

I have been sucked into Facebook. One thing about being in youth ministry is that you have to keep up on all things pop culturey. Usually I’m pretty good at it. But with Facebook I find myself being a cranky old man about it.
“Whaaaat?!?! Now there’s some new whizbang gimmick to communicate?!?! What’s next, putting [...]

#1 Highlight – Of course it was seeing great family and friends! A special thanks to the great friends that met us at the Kenmore Panera. It was very nice of you to come see us.
I’ve had some thoughts about how a relational view of ministry effects so much more than what we typically [...]
