I stuck my toe in Twitter to try it out. I got Tweetdeck, subscribed to a handful of friends, co-workers, and nationally known pastors and youth pastors. After about a month I’ve come to the conclusion it’s of no use to me.
It’s fun and neat… but it’s of no use. I’m sure it is to some but not to me.
Katie Couric pushed me over the edge to remove Tweetdeck with this:
“I Twitter and blog very selectively. Some of it is so inane and narcissistic and bizarre, I don’t quite get it. I don’t know why anyone would want to read it, much less why I would want to write it. I don’t think anybody gives a rat’s ass whether I am about to eat a tuna sandwich. I don’t even care.”
P.S. My favorites to follow were Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. At the end of my dip in the Twitter pool they were the only ones I really cared about reading which goes to show you why I had to get out. They were good though

I can’ t say that I disagree with you and Katie…
The only thing though is that Twitter is the fastest growing social network right now and most “experts” say that it isn’t going away anytime soon. However, most “experts” said that about MySpace two years ago and now MySpace is nothing more than a place for teenagers to spread their rebellious wings.
I would imagine that within a year or two, Twitter will be nothing more than a memory to most of us, just like MySpace is today.
Yeah Dave I’lll admit that I may HAVE to use it in the future. I’m very curious to see where it goes.
There’s some people predicting that teens will be off facebook within two years because it’s now an “adult” thing. The idea is that they’ll jump on the next thing like it that’s for teens only.
Twitter is not even close to being used by teens from what I’m seeing so we’ll see where it stands in 5 years.
